New for this year….The former Tulsa and Biplane fly-ins will be revived as the New Bartlesville Fly-In for 2023.
I was asked if we would like or not like it on our Fly-In weekend. I was also asked to be a part of their advisory committee. They have an official organize committee. I will serve to represent the wishes of our event. They do not want to intrude or take away from what we are doing. I said lets do it together this year and see how it works out. There will be a large turn out for this Fly-In. In the past over 550 airplanes arrive for this Fri/Sat event. This will be some extra entertainment for you as well as some publicity for our aircraft. We will be given a dedicated page on the city/Fly-In webpage to highlite our vintage airplanes. Probably a temporary contol tower will be in place during the event for at least Fri and Sat. I will advise after the March meeting of March 22.

I can not stress enough to go ahead and book those Hilton rooms right now as we hold 50 rooms minus the few that have already reserved. Those rooms will not be available after the last booking date as this hotel will definitely fill up as always.

We are now within a couple of months of the fly-in happening. Time has really flown this year.

We have booked all but about 15 rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn. We have until September 10 to book at this rate. If you have been waiting to make the booking, the time is now to book so that you can join us at the Hilton. Two hot breakfast buffets a day, per room are included in this rate. See the first item in this blog for the link.

We also need everyone to sign up for the list above so that we know that you are coming. This list allows us to know how many to expect for the meals, the badges, the vans and drivers for the vans, and other considerations where we need to have a head count. We currently have 29 owners/planes registered. There are stilll plenty of places for Bellanca parking in front of hangar #4, as we always use hangars # 1- 3 frontage and start moving south to include the frontage of hangar #5. Since the Bartlesville fly-in is also being held that same weekend, we will be asking those with cars to park in the parking lot sout of hangar #4, and walk in thru the locked walk through gate. The code will be given out closer to the fly-in. We have rented 2 12 passenger vans, and will be getting the mini-van from the airport so there will be plenty of rides for our pilots and their passengers.
