Hilton Garden Inn Bartlesville
At the request from numerous folks to try an Oct date for cooler weather, we have decided to try it this year. Oct is always pretty here in Oklahoma. But we run the risk of getting into transitional fall with cloudy weather.
We have shortened the event to a weekend only stay. Most folks have a hard time getting here earlier for the extra days. You are welcome to come Thursday if you choose. We will be around. We always have a few that like to come in early.
Dining
We will be eating out both Fri and Sat nites at local places.
Hotels
This year we are not blocking out rooms at the local hotels as they do not offer any rates better than what you can book on their hotel website. We have had difficulty in the past and this year in particular, to get the management to work with us to get what we need. We have already booked our rooms at the Garden Inn. Right now the Garden Inn rate for King/Queen is $121+tax before membership discounts, i.e. AAA, Hilton, Senior Rates, with no breakfast. You can select an option with hot breakfast. The block price was going to be much more with only a continental breakfast for our group…go figure. Price could change as time gets closer. Rates do vary in BVO area during the year. This way you can book up to the last minute if rooms are available. There will be updating construction going on at the Garden Inn running now thru the fall.

We are also recommending the Osage Casino and Hotel as the newest, nicest and closest to the airport hotel along with the Garden Inn. The Osage right now is $139+tax for a King/Queen room for Friday and Saturday only. They do not have any rooms on Thursday. That price does not include breakfast. We know some are going to try the casino this year. It is very nice. We have stayed there at least 3 times to check it out.

Just a brief update
So far we have had some folks say they are going to try the Casino out for their room choice this year. So it looks like we may have mix this year between the Hilton and the Casino. They are both nice hotels. They are not that far apart. One downtown aprox 2 miles to my hangar. The Casino just west of the airport about 1 1/2 miles.
There are some of our group having health related issues this year. We hope all recover quickly. Linda Treadway’s lung transplant appears to have gone well. Becky Catalonotto is undergoing some surgery of her own in the near future. Keep them in your thoughts.
The airport has completed their new taxiway into the business district area of the airport just on the east side of the terminal. This is the phase 1. The taxiway will eventually extend farther south as they progress. A new large hangar will be built starting later in the year. It will be located north of the terminal and adjacent to the new taxiway. It will be able to house an Emb 170.
Hope to see everyone again this year.
The time for the All Bellanca fly-in is fast approaching. We have a few updates that we need to let you know about.
Our fly-in will be the only one at the airport this year. The other fly-in has decided not to have one this year at all. The airport will be ours for the weekend.
Upon checking the Osage Casino room availability, they now haave rooms available for Thursday the 2nd for $109 + taxes. Those of you that want to try the Casino this time, you will now be able to stay the whole weekend there. We are planning to eat at the Casino on Friday night.
For those who are planning to arrive on Thursday, we will be going to the Hideaway Pizza for supper. The Hideaway is a popular eating place for young and old alike.
Saturday evening, we will again be going to Dink’s B-B-Q, also a local favorite and one that can easily accommodate our group.
The last thing we need to remind you of is to be sure to rsvp at our link. Since we do not have any contracts with the hotels this year, we won’t know you are coming unless you sign our list. The registration helps us know how many to expect!
